May 04, 2010 · Right, I installed my badass new graphics card. And I was playing on CoD4 which looked awesome and whatnot, but then it crashed. (the screen just went black!) So I hit restart and everything worked until I typed in my password and logged in, the screen just goes black. I think safe mode still

Bad video card (XFX HD 5770): Card gradually failed over a year and a half. Started freezing the screen after showing multi-colored specs. Problems became more and more frequent, then would occasionally blue-screen. It would only do this when idling or internet browsing. It turns out that the HD 5770 is basically the same design as the HD 6770 and the new HD 7770 is a more energy efficient, cooler-running version of the same basic design. About the package : one card the XFX sticker came a little off and theres no crossfire cable. But if u want a $200 card this is the best option, good performance and design, if u see the SAPPHIRE 5770, it looks like cr@p. But i recommend spending at least $350 and getting HD 5870 or gtx 470.
